15.9 Section II – Who Is An Insured

Who qualifies as an insured depends on the type of named insured listed in the Declarations:

  • Individual or sole proprietorship: The named insured and their spouse are insureds.
  • Partnership or joint venture: The named insured, their partners or members, and their spouses are insureds.
  • Limited liability company (LLC): The named insured, its members, and its managers are insureds.
  • Other organizations (such as corporations): The named insured, its executive officers, directors, and stockholders are insureds.
  • Trust: The named insured and its trustees are insureds.

The following are also considered insureds under the policy:

  • Volunteer workers and employees while performing duties related to the insured's business.
  • Any person or organization acting as the named insured's real estate manager.
  • Any person or organization with temporary custody of the named insured's property after the insured's death, until a legal representative is appointed.
  • The named insured's legal representative if the named insured dies.
